The primary source-based teaching units that teachers working with academic historians have produced over recent years for the National Center for History in the Schools at UCLA are lighting up classrooms around the country. With carefully constructed lesson plans, the units provide primary documents that teachers are hard put to search out and suggest teaching strategies for making them work in the classroom. In our involvement with programs pairing scholars and teachers, we have found them to provide teachers with the practical application of the inspiration and knowledge they receive from the scholar lectures.
If you have questions about which units will fit best with your program, please email our director, Gary Nash: gnash@ucla.edu.
